(bbsbadgirl) hi, i have a quick question for the picture inside text tutorial does it also work for gifs?
Yes it does! :) Just remember to read both tutorials, “Pictures inside text” & “How to gif” very carefully before attempting this…

You do know that you can’t pass 500px width and the 1MB gif limit, because otherwise it won’t move on Tumblr since it’s now a gif (that means you have to save it as a gif as well). Also feel free to add any textures or adjustmenst to this in case you want to turn it into an edit.

(匿名) omg you changed you theme look it's really beautiful every thing you dose is beautiful kekeke i want to ask you smth how can i but a black tap to write a conversation in gifs ? and what is the best font for it ? i can explain in another way if you didn't understand it sorry :)
Sorry for the late response, I tend to forget about the messages in my ask ^^;; You mean sth like this right?

For that black bar you simply
).

Just click anywhere (while still using the marquee tool) to make the selection disappear. It’s time for the conversation (aka the subtitles). There isn’t any “best font” for it I guess, just use a font that’s readable. I recommend those standard fonts like arial, verdana, georgia or if you want to use a tiny one for more space use this one- It’s called “04b03” and the font size “8px” suits it the best. How to apply the conversation on that black bar is as easier done as the bar itself:
).Make sure this text layer is above the black bar layer and all the other layers. So it’ll be visible on the gif. You can change the color of the text as well. Don’t move the text around on other frames, always select the first frame! Otherwise it’ll f*ck up everything ^^;;
And the black bar doesn’t have to be black either. You can for example make it white and semi-transparent like this.

(He didn’t really say that by the way lol). It’s the same process, but to make the bar transparent you have to change it’s Opacity.

Again, don’t mess around on other frames, always select the first frame if you change or add things (!)
(匿名) Hi. :) I was wondering if you knew how I would make this effect? I'd just use the eraser right? 30(.)media(.)tumblr(.)com/tumblr_lwxtk8a6Un1qamheoo1_250(.)gif
Nope, that’s probably not done with the eraser but with a gradient filler layer ^^

(匿名) sumi, can you please teach me how to add different photos and put them together in to a gif? please? can you tag it in ur messages or tutorials so i can find it? thank you.
Sure. You simply…

and don’t forget to change the seconds to at least 0,5sec so it won’t be playing to fast.

You should also know that you can’t use to many pictures. I used only 4 and it was already 455KB.
(匿名) when i add the sharpen filter to the frames+layers of the gif it looks more pixelated instead of HQ .. how to solve this?
That’s probably because the quality of your gif was kinda bad already. Adding the sharpen filter doesn’t always help ^^;; I don’t do it to low quality videos either. See the difference:
low quality video/gif (no sharpen filter added. It’d ruin it.)

high quality video/gif (+sharpen filter)

In case you want to use it to make your gifs look better your video should already have a high quality resolution. (Like I said once: You can’t make an eatable apple out of a rotten one, even Photoshop can’t do that).

(匿名) Can you make a tutorial on how to make photoset gifs where each part of the photoset is a section of the video so when you put them all together it shows one big gif?
First of all you make a gif (→ how to make gifs). The bigger the better I guess.

All you’ve to do is to crop it. But first: Choose the slice tool and mark your gif.

Now you’re going to divide the single sections you’ll be cropping out later for your photoset. Let’s make it three sections each line: right click > devide slice

result: 3 sections and 3 lines
Last step: Crop every section and upload them to create such a photoset.

You now should be having 9 mini gifs. Time to upload them: Keep pressing the + Add an other photo until you have 9 photos to upload… and… it should look like this.

Let me tell you though: I don’t recommend such photosets. It’s way to much work with all the cropping and stuff. Such photosets don’t even work out for all dashboards equally. People with a slow internet connection will see it all fucked up. So it doesn’t really pay off.
(onpout) Hi Sumi~ Do you know how to get like motion blur between gifs? ^^
So you’re combining gifs? Just make the last and first frames of each gif blurry and I guess it’ll work out…
an example for combining two gifs/scenes;

and the blurry frames should play a bit longer than the other (for example; other frames = 1 sec. / blurry frames = 2 sec.) otherwise it’ll move to fast and you won’t notice the motion blur…

(匿名) how to you make your gifs higher quality? ;A; Ive looked everywhere and I havent found anything. do you think you could help? all my gifs have come out grainy / blotchy.
to require a high quality gif you should first of all…

now you can try to add as many effects as you want to make your gif look nice w/o paying attention to the end result of your gif being to large (it depends tho, don’t overdo it.) you can also go through every single layer+frame and add sharpen. it’ll look more hq. (example…)

and also remember: the less frames, the more creative freedom.
